Accra, April 14, GNA – Sinohydro, a construction firm has, donated hand washing and protective items, to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to enable its officials to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
It comprised alcohol-based hand sanitizers, rubbing alcohol, hand gloves and would be distributed to all the agencies under the ministry to augment its supply.
Mr Huang Guanghui, Chief Representative of Sinohydro presented the items to Mr Kwesi Amoako-Atta, the Minister of Roads and Highways at a brief ceremony on Tuesday in Accra
Mr Guanghui said his country had a terrible experience when the outbreak began in his country China.
“We are still recouping from the shock and the devastation of the virus that is why we thought it wise to make such donation to support the personnel of the Ministry,” he said.
Mr Amoako-Atta who received the items thanked the team for the gesture and said the government continued to take measures to halt the spread of COVID-19 and totally eradicate the virus.
He recalled that the company had a long-standing relationship with the country through its many projects including; the construction of Bui Hydro Plant.
Mr Amoako-Atta said the government would continue to work with the company especially as the country aimed at building more roads.
