Bibiani (WN/R), April 19, GNA – The Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited (MGBL) through the Resolute Foundation Advisory Panel (RFAP) has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Municipal Health Directorate in Bibiani to support the fight against COVID-19.
The items, expected to be distributed to the various health facilities in the Municipality include, 200 face shields, 30 re-usable aprons, 150 disposable gloves, 50 pieces of safety goggles, 200 cover shoes and 20 white clinical wellington boots.
Presenting the items, the Community and Legal Relations Officer of Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited, Mr Emmanuel Aidoo on behalf of the RFAP Chairman, said the gesture was to help protect health workers and frontline staff in the fight against the spread of the virus in the Municipality.
He said, “equipping and protecting frontline staff is crucial to safeguard their safety in the line of duties”.
Mr Aidoo said the donation formed part of the Company’s commitment to support the government to fight the spread of the COVID -19 pandemic and care for the welfare of the people, particularly communities within their catchment areas.
Mr Alfred Amoah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bibiani-Ahnwiaso-Bekwai who received the items on behalf of the Municipal Health Directorate, handed it over to the Municipal Health Director, Dr. Francis Takyi and commended the management of Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited for their immense support to the Municipal Assembly in the fight against the world pandemic.
He appealed to people in the Municipality to adhere to the preventive protocols to stay safe from the virus.
The Municipal Health Director on behalf of the Health Directorate, thanked Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited for their kind gesture.
He assured the donors that the items would be put to good use to serve the resident in the Municipality.
