Bibiani (WN/R) April 18, GNA – Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited (MGBL) through the Resolute Foundation Advisory Panel (RFAP) has donated relief items to some identifiable groups in the Bibiani Municipality to curb the spread of COVID -19 pandemic.
The items include a quantity of Veronica buckets and washing basins,v 33 boxes of sanitizers, 36 pieces of tissue towel and two boxes of carbolic soap to the Local Council of Churches in Bibiani for onward distribution at vantage points across the township.
At a short ceremony to present the items, the General Manager of Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited, Mr. Bennett Kunkyebe said, the donation forms part of Mensin’s Corporate Social Responsibilities in their areas of operation to protect the people from the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the donation was also in response to the national appeal to support the needy and poor in the society in the wake of the COVID- 19 pandemic.
Present were representatives of the Municipal Chief Executive, the District Director of the Ghana Health Services, members of the Local Council of Churches and some community leaders.
Ms Lucy Aquah, the representative of the District Director of Health Services, used the occasion to sensitise the gathering on some precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID -19.
She tasked them to strictly adhere to the laid down protocols by the government such as regular handwashing with soap under running water, avoid crowded places, avoid handshaking and ensuring the use of tissue paper to cover their mouths when coughing.
