The Chosen Children’s Orphanage, Blessed Foundation Mother Care, and Good Shepherd Child Care were amongst the beneficiaries of the donation which would hopefully aid them in observing the Coronavirus protection measures.
The items donated include six pack of bleach, six packs of tissue, six Veronica buckets with bowls, six packs of paper towels, six boxes of liquid soap, 60 pack of sachet water, 30 packs of bottled water.
The rest are three boxes of hand sanitizers, three boxes of Madar soap, three boxes of pepsodent, a bag of rice, 25 liters cooking oil, and six boxes of Yazz sanitary pad.
The Foundation also donated a cash of GH¢1,000.00 each to ease up on the things they need for the smooth operation of the homes.
The Reverend Dr Nana Yaa Owusu Prempeh, the President of the Foundation, said many in the society are finding it difficult to acquire some of these relief items, hence the effort to aid them.
She educated the children on the preventive protocols and how to effectively wash their hands using soap and under running water, the need to avoid stigmatization and also encouraged the children to study hard to become responsible in future.
“I am so happy now the children have learnt more about how to washing their hands, using sanitizer, they have learnt about why we are wearing the face mask and maintaining social distancing,” she added.
She expressed gratitude to Madam Belinda Opoku, Altantic Catering and Logistics, Dr Rafiq Osman and all those who supported the initiative to be able to reach out to the poor.
Madam Gifty Annan of Chosen Children’s Orphanage, receiving the items on behalf of the Owner, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the timely support adding that, due to the restrictions a lot of groups and individuals who often assist them could not come to their aid.
Apostle Paul Kwaku Addei, the Director of Good Shepherd Child Care, also thanked Dr Nana Yaa for the gesture and pledged that the items would be put to good use.
Mr Tismark Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of Blessed Foundation Mother Care, said they have a challenge with feeding and that the cash donation would assist them to purchase food items for the children.
