Accra, April 26, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Amasaman branch has donated assorted food items to the Muslim Community within the catchment area to show solidarity as Muslims around the globe observe Ramadan.
The NPP delegation, led by the parliamentary aspirant, Mr Akwasi Afrifa-Mensa, and Mr Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, the Ga-West Municipal Chief Executive, donated 30 bags of rice, sugar, cartons of milk and crates of eggs.
Mr Afrifa-Mensa said; “The NPP is, and shall continue to be, the most development-oriented Government in the country” and asked the people to keep supporting it.
He stated that the time had come for the people of Amasaman to change their voting pattern and give the NPP the chance to represent them in Parliament.
“Everything points to the fact that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be retained after the 2020 polls,” he said.
“It will, therefore, be of benefit to the people of Amasaman to have an NPP Government, NPP MCE, and an NPP parliamentarian, who will all work in synergy to bring the needed development to the constituency.”
Mr Afrifa-Mensah promised to donate 50 bags of cements towards the building and completion of the Central Mosque project in the constituency and assured of another visit and donation before the Ramadan ends.
Chief Halifa Haidara, the Ga West Zongo Chief, who received the items on behalf of the Muslim Ummah, commended the Party for the love and support showed them during the period.
He used the opportunity to educate Muslims on the difference between the methyl alcohol, which is used for the production of hand sanitizers, and the ethyl alcohol, an industrial chemical used as a solvent.
Chief Haidara admonished Muslims to religiously stick to the preventive measures to help contain the spread of the COVID-19.
Mr Wilkinson, the MCE, admonished the elders to continue supporting the Government to succeed in all endeavours.
“The NPP is undertaking several developmental and social projects and programmes within the constituency and the country in general and will need the support of all to bring the needed change and development we desire in our community”.
