The items included 100 Veronica buckets, 100 small-sized washing bowls, 100 gallons of liquid soap and 2000 alcohol based hand sanitizers for distribution to the rural communities to aid hand washing among the residents.
Mrs Prempeh, the Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection used the opportunity to teach some residents of Duayaw-Nkwanta on proper hand washing with soap and application of the hand sanitizers.

Mrs Prempeh indicated that the rural population was vulnerable because public education on the disease had not gone down well with them, and called on District and Municipal Assemblies and civil society organisations to intensify education in the rural areas.
The MP highlighted on the importance of frequent hand washing with soap under running water, social distancing and the use of hand sanitizers and urged the people to make them part of their daily social lives.
