Akan NPP Parliamentary Candidate pledges welfare scheme for teachers

Kadjebi (O/R), Nov. 26, GNA – Mr Mustapha Tassah, the Akan New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate has pledged to institute a welfare scheme for teachers serving in the Constituency, when voted as Member of Parliament (MP).

He said he would part used of his monthly salary to fund the scheme which would “take care of basic needs of the teachers”.

The Private Legal Practitioner said it is possible because he would continue to practice as Lawyer as the law permits that.

Mr Tassah, disclosed this at a meeting with the School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) and Officers at the Kadjebi District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service at Kadjebi in the Oti Region to share his vision with them.

He promised to help the teachers buy cars on hire purchase with the principal attracting no interest as he had links with a company willing to do that as part their Corporate Social Responsibility.

Mr Tassah asked the “middle class people” to vote for someone competent enough to put Akan Constituency on the map and that people would help the constituency because they heard of it.

He said, “Akan will get it due share of the national cake, if he is given the nod as MP”.

The Akan NPP PC implored them to vote on issues, but political party colours.

“You will never regret it if you give me the opportunity to represent you in Parliament,” he added.

Mr Tassah, who was born and bred at Dodi-Atta Kofi, a farming community in the Kadjebi District, said he was a home-grown man and knew the problems confronting the Akan Constituency, so the electorates should vote him as MP and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as President in December.

Mr Mensah Agbesi, SISO for Kadjebi East appealed to the aspirant to lobby for the construction of a 6-unit classroom block for Awudome Kofe D/A Primary School which structure was in a deplorable state and on the verge of collapsing.

Mr Alex Dotse-Gbogbotsi, the Head of Supervision, on behalf of the directorate, thanked the NPP PC and his entourage for the engagement.
