Accra, Nov 26, GNA – The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has cleared Reverend Victor Kusi Boateng, Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, of allegations of conflict of interest in its investigative report on the National Cathedral.
CHRAJ also determined that Rev. Kusi Boateng did not hold two Ghanaian passports, contrary to claims by Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Key findings of the report include:
- The National Cathedral is a public property though the brainchild of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
- Government made contradictory statements as to the source of funding for the National Cathedral project.
- The National Cathedral of Ghana failed to adhere to procurement processes/rules stipulated in the Public Procurement Act (Act 663 as amended by Act 914) in the selection and award of the contract for the construction of National Cathedral to Ribade Company Limited.
