Bodi (WN/R), Nov. 25, GNA – The Bodi District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organised an inter-party dialogue for parliamentary candidates at Sefwi Bodi to discuss strategies to ensure peace in the upcoming general elections.
The meeting provided a platform for participants to dialogue and foster collaborations to address electoral concerns to promote peaceful elections in the constituency.
Mr. Emmanuel Awortwe, the Bodi District NCCE Director, said the meeting was part of the Commission’s efforts to initiate proactive measures to foster peace and political stability in the constituency before, during and after the elections.
“It is each and everyone’s duty to ensure that the upcoming elections on December 7 are organised in a very peaceful atmosphere,” he said.
Mr. Awortwe encouraged the political parties to embark on an issue-based campaign to help the development of the Bodi District.
Mr. Nicholas Andoh, the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Bodi, pledged to preach peace to his followers to ensure violence-free election was conducted before, during and after December 7 polls.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Michael Adjei Perry, the Bodi District Police Commander, reiterated the need for all to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner during the December 7 elections.
Mrs. Mary Ampah, the District Electoral Officer, representatives from the Sefwi Bodi Chief’s Palace, the Clergy, Civil Society Organisations, Muslim community, artisans, students, the media, and members of the public all graced the occasion.
