Management of BCM Ghana Limited calls on Police leadership to mete out justice

Accra, Nov 25, GNA – The Management of BCM Ghana Limited has called echelon to mete out justice and fairness to enable them to regain a plot of land belonging to the Company.

This they stated the Police could do by bringing their Contestants in the said land dispute to book.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday said BCM Ghana Limited is a limited liability company incorporated under the laws of Ghana.

It said it was the owner of various property in Ghana including the parcel of land known as Plot No 50 situate at Tema Motorway Industrial Area, measuring in extent an area of 4.04 Acres.

The statement said the company first acquired the parcel of land in the year 2009 from Crystal City Limited and obtained a Land title certificate in respect of it.

“ The company applied to the lands commission to regularize its stay on the parcel of land and was issued with a new lease from the Government on 26th March 2024”.

It said the company entered into an agreement with Sofaamy Glass Processing Limited (Sofaamy) to assign its interest in the parcel of land to it.

“ Sofaamy has been in possession of the parcel of land till it was taken over by Land guards allegedly with the aid of the Ghana Police Service”.

The statement said on 15th November 2024, BCM’s attention was drawn to an action by the Ghana Police Service taking possession of the parcel of land and arresting a worker of Sofaamy.

“On the said day the police officers allegedly scaled the walls of the property in Rambo style and entered into the property. In addition, the police beat the site supervisor Isaac Oteng with iron rods to which he sustained a deep gash on his forearms. As soon as the Police took this action, armed land guards hired made their way onto the property and have allegedly remained there with the tacit protection of the police service.

The statement added that before the recent incident, the police similarly arrested security personnel of BCM who were stationed at the company’s property at Airport Residential Area.
