Ejisu (Ash) Nov. 25, GNA – Mr. Okai Kwanin, an Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Ejisu in the 2024 elections, has promised to turn the constituency into a tourist hub of the Ashanti region.

Ejisu, he said, had a history and as a businessman, he would work with key stakeholders to exploit the tourist potential and develop it for the benefit of the people.

“Ejisu is the home of the brave and iconic queen mother of Asanteman.

The history of Yaa Asantewaah, together with the history of the Kente cloth, the local royal fabric, which was designed through the ingenuity of the people of Bonwire and other historic sites, dotted in the constituency, were enough to project the area as a place to visit”, Mr Kwanin told the Ghana News Agency in an interview.

Mr Kwanin, 62, who was a former NPP Chairman for the constituency said he would work and develop the massive wetlands between Ejisu and Akyawkrom into a modern eco-tourist center to create employment for the youth and improve on the local economy.

He told the GNA that his decision to contest the seat as an Independent candidate was to help break the monopoly of the NPP, which had not yielded any dividend for the people of the area.

Mr Kwanin urged the people to give him the chance by voting for him in the December elections to help implement initiatives that would help transform the area.
