Chiefs and people of Avenor celebrate Avenortutudoza 2024

Akatsi (VR) Nov. 24, GNA – Chiefs and people of Avenor Traditional Area in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region have celebrated the 2024 ‘Avenortutudoza’ (Festival).  

The festival, which was highly attended by both citizens and non-citizens of Avenor from near and far, was aimed at fostering unity, togetherness and development of the area. 

Togbega Doglo Anumah VI, a member of National House of Chiefs, President and Paramount Chief of Avenor Traditional Council, during the festival held at Akatsi, said the Avenortutudo festival was to showcase the rich culture of the area. 

“I use this chance and opportunity to say thank you to this year’s central planning committee members for the wonderful organisation and to the citizens of Avenor and Beyond for a successful festival celebration,” he stated. 

Togbega Doglo said that Avenor Traditional Council believed in friendship and progress regardless of ethnic background to cultivate and improve the development of the area. 

He said that the theme for 2024 Avenor Tutudoza celebration, which was “Fostering Peace and Unity for Sustainable Development,” was a perfect one since it would help strengthen the unity and togetherness in the area for more progress and improvement. 

He said that “l believed in unity and togetherness, and no community or Traditional area can grow or develop when they are not united. Let us come together and build the Avenor we want.” 

Togbega Doglo also urged all political parties to engage in a clean campaign devoid of insult and defamatory comments to any unforeseen chaos in the upcoming December 7, polls. 

He appealed to all eligible voters to vote wisely without any intimidation or influence by any political party and urged the Electoral Commission to act without fear or favour to announce the winner of the contest. 

He advised the security agencies to be up to the task to maintain the peace enjoyed by Ghanaians and protect the sovereignty of the state.  

Mr Samuel Kofi Dzamesi, the Chief Executive Officer of Bui Power Authority, who represented NPP Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Mr Benard Ahiafor, the Akatsi South MP and NDC parliamentary candidate in the December polls pledged peace and unity ahead of the election. 

Some citizens of Avenor GNA spoke with expressed satisfaction with the festival and thanked the Central Planning Committee for a successful celebration.
