Anwia (W/R), Nov 24, GNA – The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has expressed sympathy to families of the deceased in the gold robbery saga at Anwia near Nkroful.
Unidentified armed robbers on the night of Friday, November 22, invaded stores at Anwia and attacked gold dealers, killed two and took away huge sums of money and injured others.
In a statement to the Ghana News Agency, Mr Kofi Buah said “I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic armed robbery that occurred at Anwia resulting in the loss of two precious lives and leaving one individual in critical condition.”
The MP noted that “this heinous act of insolence has left our community in shock, and my heart goes out to the families affected by this horrific incident.”
Mr Kofi Buah assured the people of Anwia that as their representative in Parliament, the safety and security of the constituents remained his utmost priority.
He called on the Ghana Police Service to ensure that the perpetrators of the crime were brought to book.
The MP also urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation.
“To the families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones, please accept my sincerest condolences.
“No words can sufficiently convey the depth of affliction that comes with losing someone so dear and I stand with you during this difficult time of grief,” he noted.
Mr Kofi Buah wished those currently in critical condition, swift and complete recovery.
“In the light of this incident, I urge all residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.”
