Ahwetieso (W/R), Nov. 23, GNA – Mr George Mireku Duker, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency in the Western Region has expressed hope of retaining his seat.

According to the second-time Member of Parliament (MP), who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, he had worked so hard for his constituents, and they have seen what he had done for them.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency ahead of the 2024 polls, he stated that, “l will win massively, and the gap will be widened. This year’s results will be better than what I had in 2020 elections because I started my campaign as far back as 2021.

Mr Duker revealed that, “this is the only constituency having six AstroTurfs, I facilitated for the Tarkwa Na Aboso stadium to be built, lecture halls and other projects at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, second cycle institutions, among others. This development is unprecedented in my constituency”

“Our road network from Agona Nkwanta to Tarkwa was very deplorable, people demonstrated against me on several occasions, and now I have pushed for it to be fixed. I even made a statement in Parliament as to the loan we secured for this project.”

He continued “Works are currently ongoing for the construction of rail line, a new Senior High School will be commission soon in Nsuaem and recently an ultra modern hospital was commissioned in Nsuaem.

So, if we vote based on development and nothing else, then I don’t think those contesting me come anywhere close, this is my time and am calling on all to rally behind me”

“In 2008 when I was the Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsuaem  I stated that we will have a stadium and people were doubting, but now it has been built. We are going to have an airport, am not disclosing where we are going to have the funding from, but by the grace of God the airport will be built” Mr Duker assured.

He expressed gratitude to the residents of Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency for been loyal to him and appealed to them to vote massively for him and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, so they would continue to work hard to better their lives in the coming years.
