Dambai (O/R) Nov 19, GNA – The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) is set to host a parliamentary candidate dialogue in Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
The event aims to provide a platform for candidates contesting the parliamentary seat to outline their vision and plans for the constituency’s development.
The dialogue will feature Mr. Michael Yaw Gyato of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), former Member of Parliament and Mr. Nelson Kofi Djabab of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), first timer parliamentary candidate.
Mr. Gyato, the NPP parliamentary candidate has already shared his commitment to the youth of the constituency if elected as member of parliament in the 2024 general elections.
The PC promised to create employment opportunities, empowering young people through sustainable development initiatives and ensuring a safe dignified future for Krachi East.
He again made a compelling case for his election, emphasizing that partnering with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, will amplify their collective drive for meaningful change in the communities.
Mr. Djabab has already unveiled his vision for the constituency with education taking a centre stage during his primary campaign, he plans to institute a teacher’s scholarship scheme to motivate teachers, ultimately changing the educational narrative in Krachi East.
His initiative was part of his broader commitment to improving education, which he considers his topmost priority as a parliamentary candidate, in addition to the scholarship scheme, Mr. Djabab on behalf of NDC party promised to build a regional hospital in Oti Region.
The NDC PC has demonstrated his dedication to the constituency through various community development projects, including commissioning of mechanised boreholes and donating iron sheets to some beneficiary communities.
