Protect the Peace – Anloga IPDC tells electorates

Anloga, (V/R), Nov 19, GNA – The Inter-Party Dialogue Committee of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE-IPDC) at Anloga District has advised electorates and first-time voters to protect the peace currently enjoyed by the nation

In a series of engagements held by the committee over the weekend and on Monday, November 18th, the team propagated the message of Peace and harmony as a major theme for their work in the district

The team led by Togbi Hatsu III, Anloga District Director of NCCE and other executive members of the IPDC, visited faith-based centres like Anloga Central Mosque, Church of Pentecost, Anloga and some community centres later Monday

They called on participants to prioritise the peace they are currently enjoying by not heading to any form of influence from political actors to involved in acts of violence.

“With just a few days to the general elections, we must remember that it is only about exercising our civic and political rights by casting our votes to choose our president and members of parliament, so we must be cautious of our acts on Saturday 7th December,”

“Election day is very important, whatever we do at the polling station must be done with decorum,” Togbi Said.

The inter-party dialogue committee was formed in August this year to serve as a unifying body for all election stakeholders and to promote peace before, during and after the elections.

Togbi Kpemini Gawu V, Chairperson of Anloga IPDC, also charged the various institution heads and stakeholders to work without fear or favour to make sure there is a transparent and violent free election.

The team is expected to visit other community centres and churches within the Kome-Shime areas as well as radio engagements on some local radio stations
