Accra, Nov 18, GNA – Following the participation of the United Nations Secretary General at the 8th GITFiC conference on the Global Debt Initiative, Mr Selasi Koffi Ackom, CEO of GITFiC has been invited to attend a meeting in Rabat, Morocco.
A joint letter dated September 26, 2024 and signed by both Directors and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said Mr Ackom had been invited to participate and moderate a panel on the topic; Exploiting innovative digital technologies to promote intra-regional trade under the main theme: Accelerating AfCFTA Implementation in North and West Africa through digital transformation and economic diversification.
He would be received in Casablanca by the head of protocol at Ghana’s mission in Rabat and usher him for participation.
The GITFiC according to the statement ‘remains an authority on the AfCFTA subject and has led several transformative actionable policy conversation and dialogues on diverse aspects of the AfCFTA including the launch of the AfCFTA Book, PAPSS, AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club, National Survey on the AfCFTA, National and Continental sensitization and accessibility fora on the AfCFTA et al since 2019.
The GITFiC CEO is also expected to hold sideline meetings with three ministries in Kingdom of Morocco on the AfCFTA, Global Debt Initiative and the GITFiC-AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club on the about-to-be-launched AfCFTA Curriculum for Africa’s Tertiary Institutions in February 2025.
The curriculum is currently making rounds with stakeholders, chief trade negotiators, governments, state parties and the academia.
