By Samuel Akumatey

Ho, Nov. 16, GNA – Mr. Divine Bosson, Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ho Central Constituency has launched a soft loan scheme to support women in the municipality go into businesses.

The scheme, called The Dinoto Loan Scheme, has a GHC100,000 initial fund, and would provide interest-free loans ranging between GHC100 to GHC5,000 for women aged 18 years and above.

The Parliamentary Candidate, presently the Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, says it is a non-political undertaking and should benefit many.

“My dream for market women begins today,” he said, while noting the plight of the womenfolk, many who could take off with minimal capital.

Mr. Bosson appreciated the support of the business community for the programme, which is being banked by the Frerrol Rural Bank.

He made an appeal for more support for the program, and advised beneficiaries to make the most of the initiative while asking for their support for his parliamentary bid.

He said: “This shows what I can do when I become MP. I will use the MPs Common Fund to support you. I will use every means when I become MP to secure loans for you.”

Moses Amegadzie, the Scheme Manager, said no collateral would be required in accessing the loans, thereby expanding its eligibility to more women on the poverty line.

He said loans were to be repaid in a year and the main requirement remained a valid identity and proof of residence.

Women thronged the forefront of the Ho central market and cheered up the launch.

They expressed heartfelt appreciation for the program and prayed it was sustained.
