Keda Ghana improves lives through social responsibility

Aboadze (WR), Nov 15, GNA – The Keda Ghana Ceramics Company, manufacturers of the Twyford and Micasso ceramic tiles and Frencia Sanitary wares, has demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility through various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of its host communities.

The Company, located in the Shama District of the Western Region, has invested in community development projects, including donations of educational and sports materials to schools and sanitary items like soap, washing powder, and T-rolls to institutions, as well as provided support for local healthcare initiatives.

Mr Henry Zhou, the Assistant Managing Director of the Company, said its social responsibility efforts demonstrated their dedication towards improving lives and contributing to Ghana’s development.

He highlighted the company’s commitment to social responsibility and showcased its positive impact on customers and its catchment communities in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

He recalled that the company donated sums of money to the COVID-19 Relief Fund and supported many institutions with sanitary products and Personal Protective Equipment, to help fight the pandemic.

Mr Zhou said as part of efforts to make a positive impact on the host communities, the company donated sanitary items and tiles to health institutions, traditional councils, communities, government institutions, schools, and security services.

He said it had also awarded educational scholarships to deserving students to study locally and internationally and supported trade fair events as well as Farmers Day celebrations at both the regional and district levels.

He stated that they supported the Ramadan celebration with a cow and the Farmers Day celebrations annually, while assisting the National Ambulance Service in 2020 and the National Cardiothoracic Center in 2022 with funds to augment their operations.

“Recently, we have made separate donations to various institutions and activities including the Western Regional Lands Commission, Farmers Day celebration, Shama District Assembly, Wassa East District Assembly, Abura-Asebu Kwamankese District Assembly in the central region, and the Western Regional Coordinating Council,” he added.

He emphasised that Keda Ceramics had adopted eco-friendly practices and a commitment to corporate social responsibility and gave assurance of continued prioritisation of this assistance, ensuring that the Company’s business benefited both stakeholders and the community.
