Accra, Nov 15, GNA – Mr David Boadi Asamoah, the Acting Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Limited has launched the first-ever Infomercial System for the Company at Kwabenya near Accra.
The ECG Infomercial System, which is meant to boost service delivering, would serve as a platform for educating the public about the ECG PowerApp, ECG call centres and fault reporting.
“Today, we launch the first-ever Infomercial System for the Electricity Company of Ghana, a pivotal component in our transformational agenda to reshape how we serve and connect with the people of Ghana,” Mr Asamoah stated in his address at the launch of the ECG Infomercial System at Kwabenya near Accra.
He noted that at the heart of their mission was the commitment to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable electricity to every Ghanaian household and business.
“However, as we progress through the 21st century, our mandate goes beyond simply providing power,” he said
“We are charged with the responsibility to inform, educate, and engage with the very people we serve.”
Mr Asamoah reiterated that the launch of the infomercial system was a bold statement in that direction; declaring that “it aligns with our transformational agenda, which is built on three main pillars: operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and digital innovation”.
He said the infomercial system, as part of their transformational agenda, was designed to bridge the communication gap between ECG and their customers.
He said through regular, informative, and engaging content, they would demystify the workings of ECG and provide customers with real-time information on ECG’s services and processes.
He said by providing clear and accessible information, they were fostering a relationship built on trust, empowering our customers to make informed decisions about their energy use, and responding to their questions and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
“Our infomercials will not only enhance the customer experience but also serve as a platform to educate the public about fault reporting and viewing of bills with the use of the ECG PowerApp, safety protocols, and details on our latest transformation initiatives,” he said
“These are conversations we must have to prepare our communities for the future, one that requires both energy resilience and environmental responsibility.”
Mr Asamoah acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the ECG Infomercial Committee, especially those who had led the charge on this transformational agenda; adding that special recognition goes to the Enterprise Change Management Division for guiding this project from concept to execution.
Mr Asamoah encouraged the customers of the ECG to engage with the Company, to learn, and to be a part of this transformation; saying “your trust is essential to our success, and we are here to serve you better than ever before”.
“As we launch this new chapter, we look ahead with optimism and determination.
ECG is evolving, and with the introduction of this infomercial system, we are setting the stage for a future of greater connectivity, transparency, and impact.”
Mr Kwesi Ahmed Adams, Kwabenya District Manager of ECG, said the ECG Management had brought in a number of transformational programmes as part of efforts to enhance service delivering.
Madam Anita Rich-Blay, ECG General Manager Enterprise Change Management, said the Infomercial System would serve as an essential channel, delivering up-to-date information on their commercial operations, providing valuable insights, and educating customers on tools like the ECG Power App.
She said they look forward to strengthening their relationship with their customers and improving service transparency and accessibility.
