Accra, Nov 12 GNA – The Chief Executive Officer of Makeup Ghana, Ms Rebecca Donkor, has stressed the need for unity, peace and collaboration especially ahead of the upcoming general elections with a call on industry players to always advocate for peace.
She said, it was in a peaceful environment that businesses could thrive, talents could blossom, and creativity could flourish.
Ms Donkor made this appeal at the opening of the eighth edition of the Africa Makeup and Beauty (AMB) Fair at the Labadi Beach Hotel
Christened the Synergy Edition, the three-day event which began on Friday and ended on Sunday saw a rich display of products from over 50 vendors which attracted a massive crowd of beauty and wellness enthusiasts.
The CEO of Makeup Ghana, organisers of the event stressed the need for industry players to work towards preserving the environment by making eco-friendly products.
Reflecting on the theme “Sustainable Synergy for Eco-Empowerment in a Changing Climate,” she said, industry players must not only strive for creativity and innovation that defined the beauty and wellness sector but also embrace the collective responsibility to implement sustainable practices that safeguard the environment and secure the well-being of future generations.
“The idea of synergy of working together harmoniously, is central to this effort. Through fruitful collaboration, we can harness our strengths and create lasting solutions that benefit both our businesses and the planet,” she mentioned.
The AMB Fair over the years, she said, had become a vital platform for African beauty and wellness brands to connect with global opportunities, elevate their brands and forge partnerships that drive positive change.
“The collaboration we see today has not only fuelled innovation but has also positioned African brands on the global stage as leaders of sustainable beauty,” she added.
The event witnessed workshops, discount sales, live demonstrations, exhibitions, soiree as well as fashion and beauty show and crowned with the awards dubbed ‘The Synergy Gala.’
It also provided a platform for industry players to network and share ideas, while collaborating to expand and sustain the AMB Fair.
Ms Donkor announced that, they would be working feverishly towards celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fair in two years, which is expected to have a global touch.
Queen mother of Akyem Abuakwa, Nana Adwoa Asiaa Benneh (Beyeeman I) in her keynote address commended organisers for the event adding that it would go a long way to assist in job creation in Ghana.
“This is more than a celebration of beauty but an avenue for industry growth and cultural empowerment,” she stated.
She urged all to commit towards preserving the environment while calling on the youth to take advantage of the opportunities within the beauty and wellness space to become entrepreneurs.
