Accra, Nov. 8, GNA – The Electoral Commission (EC) says it will publish the summaries of the Certified Voters’ Register on the Commission’s website for public access on Monday, November 11, 2024.

The data will contain summaries of the Valid Voters’ Register, Exceptions List, Multiples List, Transferred Voters’ List, Absent Voters List, Manual Verification List, Proxy Voters’ List, and the Special Voters’ List.

The EC on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, provided registered political parties and independent candidates with soft copies of the Certified Voters Register to be used for the 2024 General Election.

Dr Eric Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman in charge of Corporate Services at the EC, told the Ghana News Agency that the publication of the register formed part of measures to deepen transparency ahead of the December 7 polls.

“We will publish the summaries on Monday for Ghanaians to have access to it. The political parties can also access it on our website,” he said.

At the last meeting with the political parties on Wednesday, the National Democratic Congress returned the soft copy of the certified voters’ register until it received the summaries.

Mrs Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the EC, said the register provided to the Parties was the final certified voters’ register.

She said although the Commission “is not obliged” by law to provide the parties with the requested summaries, the EC would honour the request “in the spirit of transparency.”

“I am pleased to note that we now have a robust certified final voters’ register which is fit to deliver a credible, fair, transparent, fair, peaceful, and glorious elections come the 7th of December 2024,” she said.
