Paramount chief lauds government 1D1F, social intervention programmes

Prang, (B/E/R), Nov. 8, GNA – Nana Kwadwo Nyarko II, the Paramount Chief of Prang in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region has praised the government for the One-District-One Factory (1D1F) and other social intervention programmes.

He said the government needed commendation for the nationwide 1D1F, improved road infrastructure, as well as reshaping of the access roads in the Prang Township and the implementation of the Planting for Food and Jobs (PfFJs) programme.

The Paramount Chief indicated that the 1D1F had huge potential to transform the economic fortunes of the nation and hoped that the government would complete the on-going construction of the factories, and also strengthen the PfFJs implementation too.

Nana Nyarko gave the commendation when he addressed a durbar at Prang to climax the 59th celebration of the annual ‘Nkyifie’ Yam Festival of the chiefs and people of the area on the theme “peace progress, education and development”.

He said the construction Prang-Abease-Kintampo road had relieved the people and facilitated their movements and economic activities, saying the people were also grateful to the government for construction of the Pru West District Assembly block, and Community Water and Sanitation Agency office.

Nana Nyarko II indicated that quality education remained a key to unlock the full potential and empowered the youth to contribute to meaningful development, and hoped the government would do more to improve education infrastructure in the local communities.

He called on parents and guardians to prioritize the education of their children and wards by investing much of their resources into it and also supporting infrastructural development.

“A highly educated generation will lead us towards a brighter future”, he stated, and called on stakeholders to augment the government efforts towards tackling challenges confronting the growth and development of education in the country.
