Odomase, (B/R), Nov. 7, GNA- Mr Yaw Dabie Appiah Mensah, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region has called on the Electoral Commission to sensitize the electorates, especially first time voters and the aged on the voting process.

That would enable them to vote appropriately and thereby control rejected and spoiled ballots in the December 7, Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Odomase in the Sunyani West Municipality, Mr Mensah, a former Organiser of the NPP in the then Brong-Ahafo Region said public sensitization on the voting process would inspire the electorates to participate in the December 7, polls.

He said voter apathy would not augur well in consolidating the gains of the country growing democracy and urged the electorates to endeavour to go out in their numbers and vote for the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer of the NPP.

Mr Mensah indicated that the Vice President Bawumia and the NPP required an overwhelming victory in the elections to “silence” the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and urged disgruntled electorates who intended not to participate in the election to rescind their decisions.

He explained that whether the electorates voted or not, Ghana was going to elect the next President, saying “we must therefore ensure that we all go out there and cast our ballot in favour of Alhaji Dr Bawumia, the appropriate leader the good people of Ghana need now”.

Mr Mensah said the content of the NPP Election 2024 manifesto put the party on the edge to win the General Election, saying with Alhaji Dr Bawumia and his integrity, the nation would realise the implementation of the manifesto for a better Ghana.

“Bawumia has built and has an integrity to protect, and there is no way he will lie to Ghanaians and come back to campaign for our votes in Election 2028”, he stated, and urged the electorates to trust and have confidence in the Vice President.
