Apremdohene solicits financial support for community centre project

Apremdo, Nov. 04, GNA- Nana Ette Akrada II, Chief of Gwira Banso in the Western Region has encouraged Ghanaians to do away with destructive tendencies that can ruin the gains made in Ghana’s current democratic dispensation. 

He said: “If for anything at all, our politics should be a contest of ideas largely devoid of insults and attacks…Ghana is one and must remain as such.” 

Nana Akrada II, also a Military Officer was speaking as the chairman of public gathering occasioned by the Apremdohene in aid of the construction of an ultra-modern community centre in the community.  

The Chief said: “As a military officer, I have seen how destructive war or anarchy can result and we are not ready as a country for any such ravages…let’s keep and preserve our enviable position as beacon of hope for Africa.” 

The community centre is expected to have 12-room accommodation, a museum, conferences and library among others. 

The project currently requires GHC 1.5 million to ensure its successful completion.  

Nana Egya Kwamina XI, the Apremdohene noted that the vision was born some four years ago to bequeath the community a standard community centre.  

He paid his glowing tributes to pioneering contributors to the worthy cause and entreated companies and individuals to support. 

Mr. Justice Ennin, the Western Regional Director of the NCCE took the opportunity to brief the community on their civic responsibilities, particularly peaceful voting and politics devoid of derogatory comments. 

An amount of GHC 77, 358 was realised in an appeal for funds.
