Tema, Nov. 4, GNA — The Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) has supported 19 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the municipality with items to expand their businesses.

Ms. Felicia Edem Attipoe, the Tema West Municipal Chief Executive, presenting the items, said a total of GHs162,000 was used to purchase the items for the PWDs, adding that her outfit had an engagement with beneficiaries on the equipment they need to enhance their jobs.
Ms. Attipoe gave the assurance that they would monitor them through visitations to ensure the items are used for their intended purpose, encouraging them to interact with the Assembly on any challenges for
them to be addressed.
She disclosed that about 80 percent of past beneficiaries utilised the items given to them to improve their lives, adding that they would continue to educate them on business management and sustainability.
She advised parents with children with disabilities not to doubt themselves and hide them but rather to contact the social welfare department to get the needed financial and psychological help.
Touching on the upcoming general elections, she encouraged the general public to cherish the peace in the municipality and the country and conduct themselves with civility.
Mr. Dennis Opoku Koranteng, a fashion designer who received an industrial sewing machine, said he would use it to work and expand his business, stating that, “I believe it will facilitate my work well. I thank the government for the support.”
