IDF intensifies attacks across Gaza, more deaths reported

Gaza, Nov. 4, (dpa/GNA) – Witnesses in the northern Gaza region of Jabalia described the situation on Sunday as catastrophic as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reportedly brought in reinforcements from other parts of the coastal strip to support an ongoing operation in the area.

The IDF said it is intensifying its attacks on “terrorist” targets in Jabalia, where dozens were reportedly killed on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Palestinian news agency WAFA cited medical sources reporting at least four more fatalities from an Israeli airstrike in the same area on Sunday.

The fighting is currently particularly intense, according to sources in the area, with civilians being killed as a result of Israeli attacks.

In the south of the coastal strip, three fatalities were reported on Sunday following an Israeli attack. Moreover, in a bombardment east of the city of Khan Younis in the southern section of Gaza, nine Palestinians were reportedly killed and others injured.

The information could not initially be independently verified. The Israeli military said the reports are being investigated.

The military said that it was continuing to act against terror organizations in the central and southern Gaza Strip.

The troops “continue to operate in the center and south of the Gaza Strip, locating weapons and eliminating terrorist groups” the IDF wrote on X on Sunday.

According to the Hamas-controlled health authority in Gaza, 27 individuals have reportedly been killed in attacks and clashes over the past 24 hours. The authority does not differentiate between civilians and fighters in its casualty figures.
