Tamale, Nov 01, GNA – Madam Fairuza Abdul-Rashid Safian, Executive Director of Camfed Ghana, has appealed to the media organisations to use their platforms to support the empowerment of young women in rural areas where girls face acute disadvantages.

She expressed the need for the media to establish partnerships with Camfed Ghana to promote the vision of every child getting educated, protected, respected, and valued, and growing up to turn the tide of poverty.

She made the appeal in Tamale during a media partnership meeting organised by Camfed Ghana to build a strong collaboration with journalists to promote the vision of the organisation.

Madam Safian said it was very vital for the media to be involved in Camfed Ghana’s support to girls and young women to be equipped and capacitated to achieve their fullest potential.

She announced that: “Over the next six years, Camfed Ghana will implement a comprehensive support system targeted at the most marginalised girls, enabling young women to transition to secure livelihoods and join the CAMA network, and drive adoption of best practices in national education systems at scale.”
