Manso Adubia (Ash), Nov. 01, GNA – Mr Yaw Frimpong Addo, Member of Parliament (MP) for Manso Adubia, has donated a total amount of GHc 100,000.00 to 45 tertiary students in the area to support their education.
The financial assistance was to help the students to pay some of their fees, books and other stationary items they would need in school.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Addo, who is also a Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, said the gesture was part of efforts to reduce the financial burden of the students and their parents.
It was also part of efforts to support education and manpower development of the district, by equipping the youth with the needed skills and attitudes to speed up the development of the area.
Mr Addo urged the beneficiaries to use the funds for their intended purposes.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, thanked the MP for the gesture and said it had come at a time they needed it most to support their education.
