2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Accra Sports Stadium to host Ghana’s last home game against Niger

By Simon Asare

Accra, Oct. 30, GNA – The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Accra Sports Stadium would host Ghana’s final home game against Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana’s Black Stars will play their penultimate qualification game against Angola on Friday, November 15, 2024, before facing Niger three days later.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) approved the Accra Sports Stadium for Ghana’s last home match against Sudan after the licence to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was revoked.

Coach Otto Addo’s side, who currently have two points in Group F, virtually need a miracle to qualify to next year’s AFCON.

Angola tops the group with 12 points, followed by Sudan with seven points. Niger are at the bottom of the group with just a point.

Ghana would be hoping for Sudan to drop points against Niger and Angola while they win their last two matches to stand any chance of qualification.
