Sefwi Chirano (WN/R), Oct. 29, GNA- Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs) to refrain from turning the chamber into an avenue for brawl.
He said parliament was a place for MPs to debate on matters that would bring development to the nation and not things that would breed chaos.
Dr Opoku-Prempeh was speaking at an NPP rally at Sefwi-Chirano in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency of the Western North Region as part of his three-day campaign tour of the Region.
He implored the electorate to consider the numerous developments and initiatives put in place by the NPP government and vote for the party to stay in power and transform Ghana.
He mentioned the introduction of the Free SHS policy, new cocoa price, One Constituency One Ambulance, restoration of teacher and nurse trainees’ allowances, creation of six new regions, drone service to address emergency situations and District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) as some of their major achievements.
Dr Opoku-Prempeh also appealed to the chiefs and people of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency to vote for Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng as their next Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai to continue implementing transformative initiatives in the area.
The tour afforded the NPP Running Mate the opportunity to pay courtesy calls on traditional leaders in the Chirano Traditional Council to introduce himself to them and seek their advice, blessings and prayers for his political vision.
Mr Richard Joojo Obeng, the Western North Regional Minister, urged the electorates to come out in their numbers and vote massively for NPP in December for accelerated growth.
Mr Alfred Obeng-Boateng, MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, asked the party’s supporters to work hard and preach the good works of the government to persuade the people to vote massively for him and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Nana Somiah Gyamprah, Akyempimhene of Chirano Traditional Area, welcomed Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and his campaign team and praised the Former Education Minister for implementing the Free SHS while in office.
He appealed to the government to upgrade the Chirano Health Centre to a Polyclinic, upgrade the community day school into a boarding facility, and build police and ambulance stations in the area.
