Hundreds receive start-up kits under ‘BizBox’ Project at Nkwanta

Nkwanta (O/R), Oct. 24, GNA – A total of 150 young people including hairstylists and dressmakers have received start-up kits under the Business in a Box (BizBox) Project in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.  

The Project is a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) aimed at empowering individuals by providing them with tools to foster self-efficiency and economic growth.  

The items distributed included sewing machines, hair dryers, carpentry tools, baking ovens, gas cylinders and electrical equipment, which are crucial for those looking to establish or expand their businesses.  

Madam Sherifa Sekyere-Tijani, the Nkwanta South Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stressed the importance of utilising the resources effectively, urging them to embrace the opportunity presented to them. 

She said the items were not just gifts but tools for their future resources that would transform their aspirations into reality.  

Madam Sekyere-Tijani encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of what they received and turn their skills into sustainable income.  

She also outlined the measures put in place by her team to ensure that the items were used for its intended purpose.  

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support and pledged to make good use of the items they received.
