Anyako (VR), Oct 22, GNA -Amugo-Vego Traditional Council in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region has held an emergency meeting at Anyako ‘Dufiafe’ to approve some chieftaincy declaration forms in the area to formalize joining the Council.
The meeting was aimed at creating chances and recognition for Council members in the traditional area.
Tegbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII,’Dufia’ of Anyako Konu and the President of Amugo-Vego Traditional Council, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, stated that the emergency meeting was used to deliberate on some other development projects in the area.
“The meeting was necessary since we also used the platform and approved some 14 chieftaincy declarations forms, which include nine chiefs and five Mamawo and we are doing all the needed efforts to improve various areas for development to thrive,” he stated.
Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui noted that seven out of 10 gazetted chiefs took part in the emergency meeting, which was to address pressing challenges within the various traditional areas.
It was also confirmed that only 10 out of a total number of 69 chiefs within the traditional jurisdiction were gazetted to take part in such emergency meetings.
“The traditional council is working tirelessly behind the scenes for the rest of the chiefs to be gazette so we can get the maximum number to deliberate on more development projects.”
GNA understands that the traditional council has put in place all necessary efforts to gazette some chiefs in other communities, including Abor, Aborlove-Nolopi, Hatorgodo, Atiavi, Tsiame, Anlo-Afiadenyigba, and others within the area.
Some Council members who were present at the meeting include Togbi Akakpo Solaga II,Togbi Agbetsi Zewu IV, Togbi Adzomani II, Togbi Kposegee IV, Togbi Duklui Attipoe V and Mama Ngogbe.
Other members absent from the meeting were Togbi Akaba VII, Togbi Aposa VI, and Togbi Agamatsu IV.
Some chiefs GNA engaged after the meeting expressed satisfaction and pledged to support Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui, Head of Bate Clan, for continuity of development of the traditional council.
