London-bound plane lands in Germany after bomb threat

Frankfurt, Oct 20 (dpa/GNA) – An Indian aircraft with 147 passengers on board, made an emergency landing at Germany’s Frankfurt Airport, following a bomb threat during its flight from Delhi to London, German police said late on Friday.

The threat was communicated on social media platform X, claiming a bomb had been planted on board the Vistara-operated flight, a police spokesman said.

Upon receiving the threat, the pilot alerted German air traffic control, and requested to divert to Frankfurt. The request was approved and the flight landed at 9:02 pm (1902 GMT).

Once on the ground, passengers left the aircraft, and the plane was thoroughly searched by police and explosive detection dogs. No bomb was found and the plane was declared safe.

At the beginning of September, another Vistara flight en route from Mumbai to Frankfurt was diverted to an airport in eastern Turkey, after a bomb threat was discovered written on toilet paper on board.
