Majority Leader predicts massive win for Agona West Constituency elections

Swedru (C/R), Sept 17, GNA – The Majority Leader in Parliament, Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has predicted an overwhelming win for Agona West in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7, 2024. 

He noted that the energetic enthusiasm shown by the supporters who poured onto the streets of the Swedru township to the Agona West Constituency campaign launch was an indication that there was going to be a landslide victory. 

Addressing party members and supporters at the launch, the Majority Leader, who is also the MP for Effutu, was very optimistic, and gave the assurance that Mr Chris Jojo Arhin Arthur, Agona West Parliament Candidate would win the elections. 

Mr. Afenyo-Markin said he would invoke his spirit into Chris Arthur to emerge victorious to transform Agona West to become one of the best constituencies in the country. 

He said parliamentary   work had become difficult for the Majority side because of the huge task involved and asked supporters to work hard to win the seat. 

The Leader called on supporters to work extra hard to convince floating voters to vote for Dr Bawumia as President and Mr Arthur as Member of Parliament for Agona West. 

Mr. Justine Frimpong Kodua, the General Secretary of the party, commended Agona West for their hard work and united front, saying it would propel the party to win convincingly. 

 He called on Ghanaians to ignore former President John Dramani Mahama, NDC Presidential Candidate because he had nothing good to offer them but the cancellation of teacher and nursing trainee allowances and energy crisis to collapse jobs. 

The General Secretary disclosed that the NPP believed in true internal democracy and therefore elected Mr Arthur as the PC and urged supporters to rally behind him to win the seat. 

Mr. Kodua said the 2024 election was crucial for the youth because it would determine their future job prospects to better their lots. 

The General Secretary called on the members to take the campaign messages o lorry parks, churches, mosques, schools, market centres, and social gatherings to preach the good policies and programmes of the party. 

Mrs. Naana Eyiah Quansah, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, urged supporters in Agona West to throw their weight behind Mr. Arthur and Dr Bawumia to win the elections. 

The MP said Dr. Bawumia had a great vision for the country and was poised to continue all flagship policies and programmes of President Akufo-Addo to help free Ghanaians from poverty. 

Mr. Arthur, on his part expressed gratitude to the Majority Leader in Parliament and General Secretary of the Party for their unflinching support and encouragements and pledged to work hard with the campaign team to ensure resounding victory. 

He promised to remain focused with determination and perseverance to achieve the objectives and aims of the party, adding that his vision was to transform Agona West Constituency by alleviating the sufferings of the masses. 

Other speakers at the colourful event were Mr. Evans Onomah Coleman, Agona West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Gi brine Tanko, Agona West Chairman of NPP and many leading members.
