He said the Department of Urban Roads was undertaking needs assessment in the local communities to guide the reshaping, and reconstruction of the roads, and therefore, entreated the people to remain patient.

He said from next week the Assembly would engage traditional authorities and all key stakeholders before the commencement of the DRIP project to inform the Assembly on the priority areas.

Mr Kumi expressed worry over the deplorable conditions of some of the roads, which had slowed down economic growth and development.

However, he said the implementation of the DRIP would easily link farmers in the local communities to urban and marketing centers.

He said roads connecting local communities such as Yawsae, Nsagobesa, Daadom, Baakoniaba, Tanoano, Apaaso, Kurosua Number One and Two and Asuogya had all been earmarked for reshaping.

Access roads at Abesimdada, Atuahenekrom, Besease, Forkuo, Kuotokrom and Yawhima would all be reshaped to facilitate the movements people, goods and services.

He, therefore, advised the people to vote for Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party flag-bearer, and Mr Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the incumbent Member of Parliament of the area, when they go to the polls on December 7.

That would help retain the Government and the MP in power and strenghten efforts towards alleviating the plight of the people and raising municipality’s development to the next level.
