Bulgaria: 15th Edition of Scientific Conference on Thracian Culture to be held in Kazanlak

Kazanlak, Aug 21 (BTA/GNA) – As part of the Holidays of the Valley of the Thracian Kings, Bulgarian and foreign researchers will hold the 15th edition of a conference on the problems and studies of Thracian culture on August 30-31 in the Kazanlak History Museum, said the press centre of the Kazanlak Municipality (Central Bulgaria) on Wednesday.

A total of 17 reports by 20 authors will be presented at the conference, dedicated to finds from Thracian life, archaeological sites, monuments and Thracian practices. Studies related to monuments from the Kazanlak Valley region, such as vessels from the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak and the Tomb of Seuthes III will also be featured in the conference.

Participants will include Dr. Consuelo Manetta, who will present a report on the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, Prof. Masoud Ahmadi-Afzadi and Prof. Rоuhollah Yousefi Zoshk, as well as scientists from the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, from the National History Museum and from the Sofia University.

The Holidays of the Valley of the Thracian Kings unites traditional and modern forms of various types of arts, as the aim of the local administration is to promote the rich cultural heritage of the ancient Thracians in a diverse and modern way.
