Paris, Aug. 7, (dpa/GNA) – An Australian hockey player has been arrested in Paris on the sidelines of the Olympics under the accusation of buying cocaine, the public prosecutor’s office said.
The suspected dealer was also arrested.
The identity of the person was not officially disclosed at first, nor whether they were a member of the male or female hockey team. No charges have been laid so far.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, police officers surprised two people on Tuesday night while they were allegedly doing a drug deal involving cocaine in the ninth arrondissement of Paris.
Australia’s men’s and women’s field hockey teams were knocked out of the Olympics earlier this week. GNA
