NPP is a squandered administration, let us remove them– Haruna Iddrisu

By Muyid Deen Suleman

Kumasi Aug 06, GNA – Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, says the NPP government is a squandered administration and there is a need for Ghanaians to remove it from power.

He said the persistent mishandling of the country’s economy by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration was a compelling reason to completely vote the NPP out of power in the upcoming general elections.

Mr Iddrisu was addressing National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters at the Asawase constituency during a physical fitness event and the launch of the constituency’s political campaign season over the weekend.

He said Ghanaians have come to acknowledge their errors in bringing the NPP into power, as they had been misled by a series of falsehoods prior to the 2016 elections.

He said the NDC was committed to ensuring vigilant oversight of all ballot boxes during the election day and urged all supporters of the party to begin the 24-hour exercise in surveillance of all polling stations in their areas.

Mr Muntala Mohammed Ibrahim, MP for Tamale Central, encouraged the party supporters to work to protect and secure the seat for Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, their MP, by casting their votes overwhelmingly in his favour.

He said the continued dissemination of falsehoods to the Ghanaian populace by Dr Bawumia, who was a Muslim, signalled a wake-up call to recognize his lack of substantive offerings to the people of Ghana, and more significantly, his disservice to Islam.

Mr Francis Xavier Sosu, MP for Madina, reassured Ghanaians that the next NDC government would reclaim all state lands that had been unlawfully sold by the negligent NPP administration to its cronies.

Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, on his part, praised his fellow MPs for their unwavering support during the campaign launch and urged party supporters to adopt a strategy of overseeing their ballots during the counting process to prevent any instances of electoral fraud.

He said the occasion marked the initiation of the NDC’s campaign in the Ashanti region, with a goal of securing 35% of the region’s votes.

The party remained optimistic about securing victory in the upcoming elections.
