Abura Dunkwa (C/R), July 24, GNA – Mr Eric Etudur Nyanteh, New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Aspirant in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency has donated 100 bags of cement to Aburaman Senior High School (SHS), to support the ongoing construction of an Ultra-modern dining hall for the school.

The 2000 seating capacity project is being funded by the Aburaman Old Students Association to give back to their alma mater for the good leadership and training given to them during their time.

Mr Etudor said the donation formed part of his commitment to the promotion of quality education in the constituency and pledged to ensure its completion to help alleviate the plight of students dinning time.

He took the opportunity to canvass for votes from the students and advised them to spread the good news about the good works of the NPP to their parents to also vote for him to become the next Member of Parliament for the constituency.

He urged the students to stick to their books as that was the surest way for academic excellence and success.

Mr Albert Yeboah, interim chairman of Aburaman Old Students Association said the construction of a new dining hall was their quota towards the development of the school and the objective of the project was to add up to the facilities of the school to match the increasing number of students.

He appealed to philanthropists, civil society groups and others to get on board for its early completion.

Dr Isaac Ignatius Yankey, Headmaster of the school eulogised the old students for the bold initiative and for their sense of gratitude and urged all stakeholders to support the laudable project.

Aburaman SHS was established by the people of Abura Dunkwa in September 1976 at the old local Methodist Church with 18 students.

As the population increased the community erected bamboo structures to be used as classrooms and surrendered its community centre for administrative purposes.
