Member of Parliament donates dual desks to schools in Ledzokuku

Accra, March 20, GNA – Mr Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ledzokuku, has donated 200 dual desk to some schools in the Constituency.

The gesture was to help enhance teaching and learning, the MP said.

“This is also to do away with students sitting on the bare floor during lesson hours,” he said.

The beneficiary schools included Teshie Krobo Basic School, Teshie Roman Catholic School and LEKMA Southern Cluster of Schools.

The others were Teshie Presbyterian Senior High School, and O’Reilly Senior High School.

Handing over the desks to the Ledzokuku Municipal Education Directorate, at the Teshie Southern cluster of schools, Mr Ayiku said: quality and accessible education had been his vision for the people.

The MP admonished the beneficiary schools to ensure the furniture were effectively maintained.

He said, plans were far advanced to build additional classroom blocks the Camp 2 Basic School to ensure each class had the optimum number of pupils.

The heads of the beneficiary schools expressed appreciation for the donation.

They appealed for more support towards enhancing teaching and learning.

Master Gabriel Nii Laryea Mensah, the Senior Boys Prefect of Teshie Presbyterian SHS, said the desk would help their studies.
