Kumasi, Dec. 29, GNA – Four out of seven Electoral Area Coordinators in the Manhyia North Constituency, have thrown their support to the re-election bid of Mr. Collins Owusu Amankwah, a two-time Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency.

The coordinators who represent the highest voting communities of Krofrom East, Duase-Dote Quarry, Buokrom Estate and Moshie Zongo, joined Mr Amankwah in filing his nomination papers to contest for the Manhyia North seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He promised to abide by the rules governing the internal contest of the party as he sought re-election so he could finish the transformational agenda he started.

According to him, the struggles he endured to have good and accessible roads must not go in vain but must be continued so that all the communities in Manhyia North could have their fair share.

The former MP said the desire to continue the infrastructural projects he started including the stocking of public schools with ICT tools as well as the training of the youth in skills was the driving force behind his return.

“I promise to restore the constituency to the agenda where everyone mattered and had a say in the development process of their communities and to also create avenues of employment for the despondent youth and others so that Manhyia North can become a transformed society,” he noted.

Mr Gyamfi Ameyaw, the Constituency Secretary who received the documents, commended Mr Amakwah for fulfilling the requirements of the party regarding the picking and filing of the nomination process.

He noted that the Elections Committee would communicate the date and time of vetting to aspirants who by the close of nominations would have been able to file.

He asked all aspirants to conduct themselves very well in the lead-up to the vetting process and afterwards so that the constituency could have peaceful polls on January 27, next year.
