Methodist Church honours La Dade Kotopon MP

Accra, Dec 18, GNA – The La Circuit of the Methodist Church, Ghana has honoured Madam Rita Odoley Sowah, the Member of Parliament for La Dade Kotopon with a Meritorious Award for her dedication and to the improvement of the constituency.

She was presented with a citation and a plaque.

The MP was also commended for championing women and children’s issues, and for her continued support for persons with disability.

Presenting the award, Very Reverend Eugene A. Armaah, Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church Ghana, La Circuit said, the La Emmanuel Society of the Church and its Leaders Meeting had observed with keen interest, the MP’s efforts to put the constituency at the place it truly deserves.

Citing some achievements of the MP, he said Madam throughout her third year as MP had demonstrated diligence and commitment in engaging, and promoting women and children issues.

“You have been a loyal and dedicated patriot, kindhearted, gentle and unassuming,” he said.

“This has made you the cynosure of all eyes as you represent the personification of the constituency’s cherished values,” he added.

Very Reverend Armaah said, it was for these reasons that the leadership of Emmanuel Methodist Church, La found it expedient to confer on Madam Odoley Sowah, a meritorious award of Excellence.

Speaking with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), after receiving the award, Madam Odoley Sowah said her joy remains in her ability to serve the people of La and thanked the Methodist Church for the honour.

She prayed for the blessing associated with the Christmas season on the people of La, and urged the government to earnestly commence work on the reconstruction of the La General Hospital.
