Natasha Choolun, Global Campaign Manager, Coalition for Cruelty Free Africa, in a press release, said the Coalition was “thrilled” to be in support of the public engagement aimed at promoting a plant-based lifestyle and the celebration of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage while fostering compassion for animals and the environment.

The all day event will explore a diverse range of activities, including enlightening talks, artistic showcases, invigorating yoga sessions, avant-garde fashion exhibits, and live musical performances by renowned talents such as Afro Boys Bands, NII Buxton, Xlmc fii, Ras Seyram, Abajo band, Diamond dancers, and Anwar.

Esteemed organisations like The West Africa Centre for the Protection of Animal Welfare (WACPAW) are also contributing significantly to the campaign.

WACPAW’s recent Plant-Based Diet campaign exemplified its commitment to education, the release said.

It said the programme provided comprehensive training to students, enlightening them about the profound impact of plant-based diets on personal well-being, animal welfare, and environmental conservation.

During the session, students were enthralled as WACPAW showcased the preparation of delectable plant-based meals using affordable, easily accessible, and nutritious ingredients such as “vegetable oil rice, vegan egusi stew with vegan gari/banku, and vegetable noodles,” the release said.

It said witnessing the culinary delights inspired the students, who actively engaged and expressed astonishment at the possibility of creating such delightful dishes without the use of meat.
