2023 ITF Wheelchair Development Training ends in Accra

Accra, Nov. 20, GNA – The 2023 International Tennis Federation (ITF) Wheelchair Tennis Development Coaching Training workshop has ended in Accra.

The three-day coaching training workshop was organized under the auspices of the ITF in collaboration with the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF).

It was aimed at strategizing for a four-year Development Plan for wheelchair tennis, which would span from 2024 to 2028.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Mr. Holger Losch ITF Wheelchair Tennis Consultant said the programme would help increase the number of coaches and players in Ghana.

He said, this was an important step for Wheelchair federation and with the hope that in some few years to come Ghana would develop a lot of talents.

He also urged the participants to grape the opportunity and the knowledge acquired here to used it judiciously.

Dr. Henry Larbi, an Executive Member of the GTF said the first day of the training was for the junior teams at the Mephibosheth Training Center at Apam in the Central Region where a lot of talents were discovered.

He said on the second day there were case clinic for all the participants and certificates were also awarded to them.

Over 30 participants across the 16 regions of Ghana took part in the workshop. others.
