German referee Siebert to officiate Ghana-Uruguay crunch fixture

Accra, Dec. 1, GNA – German referee Daniel Siebert will officiate Ghana Black Stars crunch  Group H fixture against Uruguay at Al Janoub stadium on Friday, December 2, 2022.

The 38-year-old top German referee would be assisted on lines by his compatriots Seidel Jan (Assistant I) and Foltyn Rafael (Assistant II) while Yamashita Yoshimi serves as the fourth Referee.

Siebert, who is ranked as a UEFA elite category referee started referring in 2005 and received his FIFA badge in 2015. Siebert is currently rated as one of the best referees in the German Bundesliga.

Dankert Bastian from Germany would be Video Assistant Referee and would be assisted by Van Boekel Pol from the Netherlands.

Other match officials include Marinescu Vasile Romania – Reserve Assistant Referee, Carbone Ciro -Italy – Offside VAR, Valeri Paolo – Italy – Support VAR and Giallantini Alessandro – Italy – Standby Assistant VAR.

The Black Stars would be looking to avenge their painful 2010 quarter final loss against Uruguay as they seek a spot in the last 16 at the 2022 World Cup.
