Accra, Nov. 12, GNA – As part of preparations towards this year’s “December in GH” events, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has met artisans at the Arts Centre Market in Accra.

Mr Ben Anane Nsiah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, General Services, GTA, said, “the Arts Centre happens to be a place where lots of visitors come, so we want to find out the issues they have…for efficient operation and the delivery of good customer service during the period”.

Mr Nsiah was hopeful that the number of visitors would increase, saying per statistics from airport travelers survey, the desire to repeat visits to Ghana was quite high.

“… People were quite satisfied with their experiences, but there is more we can do to improve the experience.”

He said: “We want visitors to have a positive experience about Ghana when they leave, so we will engage other stakeholders as well so that together we can all achieve that.”

Mr Bright Antwi, Coordinator, Arts Centre Market, commended the GTA for the engagement and assured of their commitment to the success of the events.

He said the Centre lacked proper washrooms, security, a signpost, effective and operational ATM machines and appealed for them to be fixed.

Mrs Alice Alima Kaala, Greater Accra Regional Director, Centre for National Culture, said customer service was key and entreated the artisans to handle their visitors well.
