Santrokofi (O/R), Nov. 10, GNA – Nana Lentobia I, Krontihema of Santrokofi Traditional Area, has donated a digital piano to the Santrokofi Benua L/A Junior High School to enable students pick up lessons in the musical instrument.
She said the piano was donated to her and other members of the Queenmothers Foundation Two by the Republic of Korea (Booyoung Co. Ltd.)
Nana Lentobia presenting the item said she wanted the students to learn music as well as acquire skills from musical instruments such as the piano.
She said being the caretaker of the school, she would urge the students to take their studies seriously and avail themselves to learning the piano and expressed gratitude to the Korean Republic and Nana Serwaa Bonsu, President of the Foundation for supporting her.
Nana Opoku Mintah, Assembly member, Santrokofi Benua Electoral Area, who received the item on behalf of the school due to the strike by teacher unions in pre-tertiary schools, expressed gratitude to Nana Lentobia.
He said it was worth noting the continuous support the area received from the traditional ruler and he would present the item to the school when teachers call off the strike.
Some pupils who were in school said they were happy about the donation and would learn to play the piano.
