La Dadekotopon MP equips 120 youth with skills training

Accra, Aug 09, GNA – One hundred and twenty young persons have graduated from a skills training program organized by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the La Dadekotopon Constituency, Madam Rita Odoley Sowah.

The beneficiaries who were went through a three-month-training in pastries making, production of cosmetics, detergents, antiseptics, ice cream and local drinks were given certificates, start-up packages and startup manuals to help them in pursuing their career plans.

Speaking at the event held at Bethel Presby church grounds last Friday, Madam Odoley Sowah, said the program was aimed at making the youth self-reliant to transform the lives and impact their communities.

She said the program was a fulfillment of a promise she made to her constituents prior to the 2020 general elections and urged beneficiaries to make good use of the skills given them.

The MP who reiterated her commitment to providing the youth with vital skills for employment and income generation said, she would continue to avail herself to the needs of her constituents.

Rev Solomon Kotey Nikoi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the municipality commended the MP for initiating the program.

The MCE who described the program as a good initiative urged the graduants to use the skills acquired to start their own businesses and impact the lives of their families and society at large.

A beneficiary of the program, Mavis Oboshie Agoe thanked the MP for impacting their lives with the skills training, adding that the skills acquired would go a long way in helping them stay relevant.
