Monument in Japan Commemorates Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Olympic Gold at Tokyo 2020

Murayama, Japan, July 29, (BTA/GNA) – The first Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group Olympic champions who won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics now have their own monument in the city of Murayama, Japan, the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation said.

The monument, which was placed a few days ago and which will be part of a memorial building in Murayama, has a photo of the happiest moment for the five gymnasts when they received the Olympic gold medals on August 8, 2021.

The city of Murayama was a welcoming host of each training camp of the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics team in the entire Olympic cycle and also the athletes’ last stop before Tokyo 2020.

The five gymnasts on the team were Simona Dyankova, Laura Traats, Madlen Radoukanova, Stephanie Kiryakova and Erica Zafirova.
